Virtual Lessons

Students have the option of full time virtual lessons or hybrid.

The studio is always set up virtual lessons due to illness, weather, etc.

Parents please be prepared to sit in on virtual lessons in the same way you sit in on the studio lessons so you understand what you need to be hearing during practice time.

Please make sure siblings/family members/pets  are as quiet as possible since the background noise filter cannot be used with instruments.

Please have all books, pencils, materials ready before the lesson begins.

For best results, reset any router and device prior to lessons.

Background filters slow down devices.  Please do not use them.

If the time of the lesson appears off,

please check the time zone of your Google calendar and/or your computer.  If the time is not set properly, lessons will appear in the calendar at incorrect times.

If a parent is not present for a lesson and the student misbehaves,

they will be given 3 warnings.

At the end of the 3rd warning,

the call will be ended and the remaining time will not be made up or refunded.

Recording devices may be in use.

Google Meet

When joining the studio, you will receive a calendar invitation to Google Meet.  This will contain your access in the event you ever need a virtual lesson.  It will also serve as a weekly reminder of your lesson block.

Audio Adjustments

For me to be able to hear your keyboard, you will need to make some audio adjustments.  Find the "snowman" dots and click on them.  Now click on "settings".  Turn the "Noise Cancellation" to OFF.

Adjust your camera to the side of the student as shown in the photo.  Please show posture, hand position, and books.

Long term virtual students need a good size viewing screen.  Screen sharing to a smart TV is an excellent choice.
